History of the business

Imperial Managed Logistics was established in 2013 following the consolidation of two companies in the Imperial Logistics stable – BROCO and Cargo Africa. The name of the new business, Imperial Managed Logistics, builds on the strength of the Imperial name and tells more about the service and products we offer – managed logistics.

Service offering

Logistics management is that link in the supply chain that plans, implements and controls the efficient and effective forward and reverse flow and storage of goods between point of origin and point of consumption. Logistics management is an integrating function which coordinates and optimises logistics activities. For Imperial Managed Logistics, logistics management means effectively becoming a logistics partner for our clients and service providers. It means being involved in all logistics activities on an operational, tactical and strategic level. True to its integrating and optimising functions, logistics management involves all logistics activities on a strategic, operational and tactical level. We like to refer to this involvement, and the resultant product or service, as “managed logistics”.

Our solutions

We develop logistics solutions through structured and well defined processes. From the moment we engage with potential or new clients, our aim is to establish a partnership. We become the client’s logistics partner with the aim to fully understand and know their business and the markets they serve. We analyse their logistics needs and supply chains. We design and build logistics solutions. We implement, execute and manage our solutions. We measure our own performance and continuously seek to improve and enhance our solutions.

Key strengths

Our strength lies in our size. Imperial Managed Logistics has the capacity and the means to move large-load volumes day after day through its comprehensive and well managed national network of service providers.
